Summary

Before It Ends with Us, it started with Atlas。 Colleen Hoover tells fan favorite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to the “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) #1 New York Times bestseller It Ends with Us

Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again。 After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date。

But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life。

Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, author of Perfect Neighbors) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off。 Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author)。

2。5 starsThis was a pretty good sequel to atlas and Lily’s love story。 I had some issues with how they stayed and reminisced a lot about the past which frustrated me, because that happened in the first book and I wanted the focus of this book to be on the present/future。 Also, the pacing of the story was a little weird。 The love story was pretty dry as well, not as angsty as I expected it to be。

Didn’t enjoy this book as much as IEWU because nothing really happened - it was all predictable。

To me this story hits closer to my heart because it truly shines a light on what it’s like to still have to be in that situation and how hard it is to navigate that situation。 It wasthe closure I didn’t know I needed after It ends with us。

I like the way they kept Ryle in it and let people see it from both perspectives when they would mention how he felt about new partners and his child。 each chapter was dedicated to either Lily or Atlas at each time, so you can see and feel what they see and feel。 There was still drama and some of what you will call ‘toxic’ but it was amazing。 。。。more

i cant even begin to describe how much im grateful for colleen for making a second book, there are so so many people who hate this book and say thats useless but we needed this, this is lily and atlas’s completed story。 i read it ends with us and i liked it but i wasn’t completely fulfilled, i expected lily and atlas’s story but the first book was mainly surrounded around ryle and their relationship。 i love love love this book because it literally gave me my expectations for it ends with us and i cant even begin to describe how much im grateful for colleen for making a second book, there are so so many people who hate this book and say thats useless but we needed this, this is lily and atlas’s completed story。 i read it ends with us and i liked it but i wasn’t completely fulfilled, i expected lily and atlas’s story but the first book was mainly surrounded around ryle and their relationship。 i love love love this book because it literally gave me my expectations for it ends with us and now i can say im fully fulfilled haha 。。。more

So, I started this book with four days left of winter break before I head back to college。 I had full intentions on continuing reading this book when school started again, with a possibility that I may finish it before I went back。 That was not the case at all。 I finished it the same day I started it, and I do not regret that at all。 I loved this book。 I felt it was the perfect continuation of "It Ends With Us," and even though it has been over a year since I've read "It Ends With Us," I felt li So, I started this book with four days left of winter break before I head back to college。 I had full intentions on continuing reading this book when school started again, with a possibility that I may finish it before I went back。 That was not the case at all。 I finished it the same day I started it, and I do not regret that at all。 I loved this book。 I felt it was the perfect continuation of "It Ends With Us," and even though it has been over a year since I've read "It Ends With Us," I felt like I picked up right where I left off。 Lily and Atlas's relationship is one that I will forever be obsessed with。 。。。more

I hate to give books bad reviews but this one was pretty terrible。 I only read this book because I am part of a book club that decided to read this series。 There was really no plot to this book and nothing happened in this book that wasn't already obvious in how Hoover ended the first book。 So if you want to read these books, read the first one and do not even bother with the second。 I hate to give books bad reviews but this one was pretty terrible。 I only read this book because I am part of a book club that decided to read this series。 There was really no plot to this book and nothing happened in this book that wasn't already obvious in how Hoover ended the first book。 So if you want to read these books, read the first one and do not even bother with the second。 。。。more

I don’t usually write book reviews but I felt like this book needed one。 It Ends With Us means a lot to me- it is the book that got me back into reading and it was a roller coaster of emotions。 It was a beautiful, heartbreaking story where I found myself relating to in very unexpected ways。 With that being said, of course, like everyone else I was rooting for Lily and Atlas, rooting for the happy ending that I love Colleen Hoover so much for。 The ending was perfect。 It was simple, it was beautif I don’t usually write book reviews but I felt like this book needed one。 It Ends With Us means a lot to me- it is the book that got me back into reading and it was a roller coaster of emotions。 It was a beautiful, heartbreaking story where I found myself relating to in very unexpected ways。 With that being said, of course, like everyone else I was rooting for Lily and Atlas, rooting for the happy ending that I love Colleen Hoover so much for。 The ending was perfect。 It was simple, it was beautiful, and I felt that it had tied up the book in a perfect bow。 After finishing, in my head, Atlas and Lily did have their perfect ending and their perfect life together and I was happy and satisfied。 I didn’t feel like I needed more。When It Starts With Us was first announced, of course I was going to read it, I read everything Colleen Hoover writes and somehow this Woman always brings tears to my eyes。 When I first started reading It Starts With Us… I hated it。 Why would Colleen Hoover mess with a book that is already so perfect。 I felt like it was undoing that perfect bow。 Well I have to say, Colleen Hoover, if you ever read this, I am so sorry for doubting you。 This book was perfect because life isn’t perfect and this book speaks true to that。 Yes, after It Ends With Us, in my head Lily and Atlas live this perfect life, and that’s why I didn’t like It Starts With Us at first because it’s not all sunshine and rainbows。 It gets messy and complicated, but so does life and that does mean there can’t be a happy ending。 Colleen Hoover… you have done it again。 Thank you for being my therapist through your books。 。。。more

Overall I liked the book and the way it was a dual pov and that we could see the different perspectives of the two characters and the way they developed。

I don't understand all the hate, rude, mean comments regarding this book。 I love all Colleen books。 I felt like it was a great closure for Atlas and Lilly。。 I read it in 2 days and enjoyed every min。。。 My only wish was that Ryle got some closure as well, that he might have changed。 I don't understand all the hate, rude, mean comments regarding this book。 I love all Colleen books。 I felt like it was a great closure for Atlas and Lilly。。 I read it in 2 days and enjoyed every min。。。 My only wish was that Ryle got some closure as well, that he might have changed。 。。。more

。。。more

A sequel was not needed。 If you like Atlas, or Lily and Atlas, then this is totally for you but otherwise it’s just repetitive and nothing new。 It’s a good mindless read and it’s definitely entertaining but far from my favorite book。

This book gave me a nice warm and fuzzy feeling throughout the whole book。 I only gave it three stars because it was missing the roller coaster of emotions and plot twists that I have come to expect with not only CoHo books, but books worth reading in general。 I am happy with the way things turned out and understand that it was mainly written for the fans, not that the author necessarily wanted to continue the story。 I will still recommend to the people that loved IEWU and are looking for an eas This book gave me a nice warm and fuzzy feeling throughout the whole book。 I only gave it three stars because it was missing the roller coaster of emotions and plot twists that I have come to expect with not only CoHo books, but books worth reading in general。 I am happy with the way things turned out and understand that it was mainly written for the fans, not that the author necessarily wanted to continue the story。 I will still recommend to the people that loved IEWU and are looking for an easy, syrupy romance。 。。。more

I was a little bit torn between 3。5 and 4 but I choose 4。 I have a lot of sentiment for this book。 The first one was like someone took my childhood and write a book about it and Ryle is like my biggest fear growing up。 At first I wasn’t sure how I feel about second one, it made me mad sometimes。 But I will always love Atlas and I will always support him and Lily。 I feel like my heart is complete now and like I also could stop swimming now。 I enjoyed it and definitely recommend。P。S。 Theo & Josh t I was a little bit torn between 3。5 and 4 but I choose 4。 I have a lot of sentiment for this book。 The first one was like someone took my childhood and write a book about it and Ryle is like my biggest fear growing up。 At first I wasn’t sure how I feel about second one, it made me mad sometimes。 But I will always love Atlas and I will always support him and Lily。 I feel like my heart is complete now and like I also could stop swimming now。 I enjoyed it and definitely recommend。P。S。 Theo & Josh thank you guys, for every scene and sentence。 。。。more

CoHo never planned on writing this sequel but she gave the fans of IEWU what they begged for。 This book while isn’t my favorite of hers, did exactly what she wanted it to do: show Lily and Atlas happy together after all the hell they both had endured in their lives。
